I know, working with tubes to that level is unique these days, it's beautiful stuff, and he built a nice website to showcase it. It touched something in me and I sent him a picture of one of my old rigs made with dual 6L6s, all recycled parts except for the plate current meter.

Tube purists might object to the transistor modulator section, but I think the hybrid approach is a good one. The modulator uses FETs, and aren't they to have similar transfer characteristics as tubes? I don't know that it means as much, but it's something for tube fans to think about.

I haven't built a push-pull tube modulator, but up until 40 years ago, that's what most commercial AM transmitters used.
