I like simpler and lighter weight systems that stay out of the way and work real fast. I don't need an AI powered desktop yet, and to always be signed into Microsoft, like they make you do with Windows 11.
I go back to Windows 98, but it wasn't all that stable until the SE, Second Edition of 98. It depended on the hardware, people didn't like Windows Millennium, they claimed, but I had an HP desktop with it, and it did well, didn't crash too much and was fast. If you had a good hardware and drivers set up properly, it worked fine.
I never upgraded to Vista from XP, I even had bought a computer that said it was 'Ready for Vista' on the box, but didn't upgrade to it, didn't need Vista, XP was fine. I read up on it, but it didn't seem to add anything I didn't already have.
If Vista works, that's great! I just like how people are looking back to older systems, it feels like retro gaming, or going back to cassettes. Maybe it's nostalgia, or that Windows 11 has gone too far, though they say that every time a new version of Windows come out.
