I always thought the NAB just got funding from all of the radio stations, dues like you'd pay to a union every year to be a member, and then NAB would advocate for you as a broadcaster.

With offices in Washington and having to pay people, I could see how station dues just wouldn't be enough money to run things today, so they must have other backers with deeper pockets.
