Re: AM Radio proposal - FCC relief?

Sure would help the AM band if manufacturers didn't make such P.O.S. receivers. I think we can make better receivers than we can buy. Anymore it seems that having a tuner in a stereo is just an after thought today. As far as programing goes, I'd love to see an LPAM license open up, other than the TIS stations on currently. Also would love to see Part #15 rules relaxed. Instead of 100mW carrier power and a 10ft antenna, 1W carrier power would be nice. That would cover a small town, a few city blocks, or even part of a county. Carrier-Current is OK for some applications, like crowded neighborhoods, colleges, a small park with power lines accessible, etc., but still not too practical for many locations where I live in somewhat rural area. Whatever the FCC decides on to help AM one thing is for certain, we the listeners will, without a doubt, hate it.
