On the way back home this evening I tuned into 107.9 to see if I could still get the 16 watt signal of WOLD probably 15 miles away. Good signal earlier in the afternoon but at 8pm it was overpowered by "WEBE 108" out of Westport, Connecticut with 50,000 watts.

Once home I only used the whip on the portable to easily hear WEBE (WOLD was the stronger signal now). Decided to switch to TV and sure enough the more distant TV signals out of Philly were hard to pull in. Normally they are strong.

While I couldn't get WBOC TV 16, Maryland which I usually can with ducting, WHRO Channel 15 out of Hampton-Norfolk, VA (1000 or 2880 kW) is coming in strong. Haven't tried any of the 453-512 Mhz public service freq's yet.

Tropic storm on East coast, major weather nightmares out West/South, cool nights on the home front, should be good for one more night of ducting. Besides [www.dxinfocentre.com] any fav sites to check out?
