steady tone under WWV - 10 MHz, 12/10, 1945+

Not the usual suspects (BPM or PPE), no beeps or ticks, just a steady 1kHz tone behind WWV on 10 MHz. Not noticed on any of their other frequencies. Any ideas?

Update: As of 2115 the steady tone is gone - and PPE is audible in the background with normal time signals. Maybe they were doing some testing or something..?

America needs a sense of humor...
