I've never had one of these, but on 10M and 6M, whether FM, or USB, the DX-70TH sounds pretty good out there. Most of the contactees I've worked had these rigs in the mobile. I don't know what these sound like on AM, yet, but I had no problem copying either local, or DX stations, working from the road with these. That LDG AL-100 is a great complement to that rig. Where other tuners fail to tune up on the new 60M band, this tuner will, nicely. It's better than the built-in tuner in my Kenwood TS-2000X. Oh, and you can use a 4W CB rig to tune up an antenna for 27MHz. It works! This tuner also seemed to tune up 160M better than some others I've tried, just be sure that you have a damn good Earth GND. As a combo, not a bad deal, and prior to 2010, I would have snatched it up. Hi-hi....

Can't help you with that one John. No Amazon sellers list it, GEMM is out of business, and there's only ONE YouTube entry on it. The poster has put up excerpts of it. Besides TERRIBLE source vinyl, he's overdriven everything. Sounds kinda like something that needs wiping - not worth the bother...

Gone on its' way to a new home!

Yes, I'm selling my venerable R-75, serial# 002930. Comes with the AD-55A power pak, owner's manual, MB-23 carrying handle and feet, and the original box, which is in new condition.

I've made three minor modifications (all are easily reversible). I replaced the 1st IF 15 kHz xtal filter with a 9 kHz xtal filter which really tightens up the front end, making it a better DX machine. I did the partial MW attenuator removal since I live in an area without much MW RFI. And I added a capacitor from the chip to Ground to make the "S" in S-AM stop blinking on and off.

There's also one minor boo-boo: When performing one of the mods I allowed my soldering iron to touch the plastic above the left side of the LCD display, leaving a small melted spot. It's on the top, not the front. It bothers me, but it's hardly noticable when the radio is in use.

This is the original R-75 design with the Motorola "AM stereo" chip, lending itself to some KIWA mods, if you are so inclined.

It was my primary receiver for several years and has brought in quite a bit of DX, both pirate and otherwise. So, why am I selling it? Because I just acquired a more top-end receiver (with a bandscope!) and as much as I'd like to, I don't have the room to keep everything.

It works perfectly but it must be sold "as-is", as is normal for used electronics.

Asking $550, shipped to you. The Icom box will be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed into another box for shipping.

Contact me direct or via PM here.

Thanks for reading. 73 and great DX! jta

This should be a little esoteric.

Anyone have the early 1970s LP "Electric Sparks" by Roger Ruskin Spear, formerly of the Bonzo Dog Band (one Radio Animal should like!)?

If so, I'd like to get a mp3 copy of the song "All By Yourself In The Moonlight".

Any takers?

Update, 26 May: I honestly thought I was the only person who remembered this one, but I have been proven wrong. Thanks, Lee!

I had such great success when I looked for Stevens and Grndig that I thought I'd try for something a bit older and, if possible, rarer.

I'm looking for a digitized copy of a 45 rpm single from 1961. It's by The Four Preps and called "More Money For You And Me" which lampoons The Fleetwoods, The Hollywood Argyles, the Kingston Trio, and Dion and the Belmonts, all in five minutes.

I can find a copy on the web to play, but I can't download it. And since the lyrics popped into my head about a week ago, I can't get 'em out. I gotta have it! (too bad I didn't buy it way back then...)

If you happen to have this record and can email me a mp3 of it, I'd really appreciate it.

Believe it or not, it's a HP "all-in-one" printer that I picked up at WalMart a few years back for $20. I liked the price then; needed something inexpensive. The printing is good, it doesn't suck ink, and the scans are OK, so I'm pretty happy.

There's only two little things that I don't really like: First, it scans a bit crooked and I haven't figured out how to compensate for that yet. And second, really bright colors get washed out. I just scanned some of my QSL cards, for example; A neon red card scanned as pink, a bright orange card scanned as pale yellow, and a neon green card scanned as powder blue.

If you're interested in the books, I'd be happy to dog-ear a few pages for ya...

I have the original three book set of Radio Database International in pretty good shape (considering the distance they've traveled with me) available if anyone needs them for their collection. This is the first edition, first printing of what later became known as Passpost to World Band Radio edited by Larry Magne and Tony Jones, and issued in 1984/85.

Volume 1 is Int'l Broadcasting Edition, Volume 2 is the Tropical Band Edition, and Volume 3 is the Special Edition: Tropical Band Survey..

Obviously they aren't for current reference, only for historical value. I need to make more room in my bookcase for more of Mr. Yoder's great books.

There are no dog-eared (sorry Boomer) pages and no writing on covers or pages. However, there are a few scuffs on the covers. These are as close to brand new as you're likely to find today.

Make reasonable offer to include shipping.

Thank you. jta
