Alabama Drake R-8, multi-band dipole Tuned in at 0225 to hear some sort of ska song in progress. Several IDs and talk about "the status quo" after, ID as "Captain Ron Shortwave". Signal was fighting crashes with some fades, S8 peaks. Noticed the slight drift but not bad, stayed around 6925.20 most of the time after warm-up. Very good audio. First time hearing Captain Ron since January 28, 2001 on a Super Bowl Sunday broadcast. I wasn't DX'ing much at the time.. logged only two pirates that whole year. Welcome back! Finally an ID here, S3-4 noise w/ pops, sig to S9 peaks. 03:52 "This is The Voice of Captain Ron". 03:53 "..somewhere in the middle of North America..". 03:57 Took a dive into the S3-4 noise, but was sounding GREAT just before that. Local sunset was at 02:19. Thanks for the show Captain Ron !!! The tunes were peaking just above S9.
