Here is a stealthy antenna question for yous guys...Take 2-40 meter "Hamstick antennas and mount them as a dipole.... Like this.... http://www.buxcommco.com/budget_ant.htm Do you think you could tune it for 41 meters? I can get the Hamsticks local for $16.50 each and then build the dipole mount.... What do you think? Is it worth the efford to build it? ------------------ Bow Admin |

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. You could put togther two of things and use one as a reflector in a mini beam array.Admin |

That should work well. Even a single "hamstick" does pretty good when conditions are decent. Admin |

Well, I will tell you guys on thing....Thanksgiving Morning I put up my first try at that type of antenna. 2 - 9ft 1/4 wave whip CB antennas in the Horizontial dipole fashion about 30 ft off the ground... Checked the SWR at 27.555 MHZ was 1.7:1...with the antenna ends pointing N-NE / S-SW I got a 5/7 Signal report out on Maine on the first try with 100 watts USB out of the ICOM IC-718.... Yes, The Hamstick Dipole will be my next project.... see If can tune them for the 41 meter band.... ------------------ Bow Admin |
