To our collective amazement, the struggle to win an LPFM license for our little Colorado town was finally won on March 9th, after the FCC issued a construction permit -- more than three years after our application was first tendered. Of course, our once stalwart troup of volunteers has long since dwindled, as have our finances, so we're starting from scratch with the hope that the toughest part (As Tom Petty once wrote ... "the waiting is the hardest part") is behind us.

We offer yet another hearty "thanks" to those of you out there who offered advice and rooted us on along the way. Our question now for you is: Where do we go from here? Any blueprint from those of you who've come before us would be deeply appreciated.

Best,

MPR

Congrats! If you haven't done so already, I suggest that you carefully go through everything available at
www.prometheusradio.org and http://www.nfcb.org/projects/lowpowerfm.jsp

If you desire to be treated as professionals, you should prepare and maintain a "business plan" to demonstrate your serious side. Without goals, you can't tell when you succeed.

Also, set up your bookkeeping system in accord with the standards accepted by non-profits.

We raised over $1,100 toward our EAS gear with an evening at a community theater performance.

Buena suerte!
