Well I have installed the software, plugged the radio in to the sound card, and all I get is a mass of colored dots. I have tried the ham freq. where there is sstv traffic and got only this. What am I doing wrong?Admin |

WLS,You may want to try a couple of things... On MMSSTV -Go to the HELP file and Syncronize your Soundcard using WWV signal -Go to Options --> Setup MMSSTV---> RX push Calibrate button and let the program do it's thing, then close teh freq display window that pops up and try again. Propagation has been very low lately, so your trouble may also be just lack of signal strength. Don't give up! Amen! ------------------ Reverend Bow Voodoo VUDU Can I have an Amen? Admin |

If you are able to hear the little music and chip noises that are part of sstv over your receiver through your computer's sound system then you should have no problem, with the default settings in mmsstv my program will usually detect the signal and starts without you. I can sit it on 14230usb for half a day and I will at least get 4 or 5 bikini chicks from all over the country. But a lot of the pirate sstv will start the auto mode but still come in to fuzzy to identify.Admin |

Thanks! To my amazement I picked up WHYP tonight (1/14/04, 0030, 6925 USB) and it worked like a charm except I had to straighten out the slant by 45 degrees. I got a beautiful (if that is the right word) shot of Osama Bin Laden and two friends. I was told that if you miss the beginning tones you are out of luck and a weak signal may not work - this time was different in that I got the beginning and the signal was strong! Thanks again and thanks JB for the signal!Admin |
