Inside the FRNor Behind it or Under it.

Dexter Bungfoffer - is the geek in charge of FRN server operations. When fed large amounts of Cheetoes and Jolt Cola, Dexter has been known to do nothing very interesting. In his spare time, Dexter likes to quietly watch young girls practice gymnastics at the local schoolgrounds. Dexter suffers injuries from frequent (daily) blows to the back of the head, delivered by the FRN staff.

Kirk Trummel, has been a Shortwave Listener since 1976 and a pirate radio DXer since 1980 when he logged his first pirate station Jolly Roger Radio. Strangely enough, that was the year he got his Amateur Radio License KA9GRA but we're sure he kept all his transmissions inside the ham bands. During 1985/86, while stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army, he managed to acquire a Yaesu FRG-7700 and DXed pirates on Saturday and Sunday mornings. He created and edited "The Black Book" for a year, was the Dialogs editor for the ACE magazine in addition to several special features. Kirk, has been known to frequent war zones and concentration camps, in his spare time he catches bugs and throws rocks at cars from a local freeway overpass.

Kirk passed away a few years ago.  Read more about Kirk here ----

John's David Letterman Impersonation

John Cruzan, started listening to Shortwave radio in 1988 and quickly became interested in Pirate Radio when he happened across Gerry Dexter's book about shortwave listening and it's section about pirate radio. John heard his first pirate, Jolly Roger International in 1991 and has been Dxing them ever since. John has also written for the ACE magazine. John tends to throw up when approached by beautiful girls. In his spare time, John follows people home for no apparent reason. He has also been known to dissappear for long periods of time and is currently under investigation for numerous reasons by Federal, State, and Local authorities.

FRN Professional Telephone Research
I
n an effort to keep up to date all on of the current events and issues, FRN volunteers continuously man the telephones, gathering information and facts about the free radio scene.

An unidentified FRN volunteer makes prank phone calls to the FCC and other Federal agencies. ( we have no knowledge of who this person is, or where this photograph was taken)

FRN Cutting Edge Technology

The FRN operates only with the latest cutting edge servers and software technology. Nothing but the best is used, and our team of first rate technicians know just where to get the right equipment. "Staying on the cutting edge really takes a guy who is fast on his feet. Dark clothing and a ski mask are good too" said one FRN technical volunteer.

After "obtaining" computer parts for the new FRN servers, this FRN volunteer has not been heard from in a while.

Communicating with the FRN users.

A loyal FRN staffer spends an evening in the chat room sharing information and debating issues with other free radio supporters. "I like to pretend to be a woman when I log into the FRN chatroom" says FRN staff member Roger H. "It keeps the conversation lively and fresh!"
FRN staffers have found that by not wearing pants while chatting in the chat room, they feel more refreshed at the end of a long chat session.
